GO THE PINK DOG HAS RAISED $56,000!

WELCOME TO GO THE PINK DOG 2012
$56,000 was raised through this year’s Go The Pink Dog! campaign to support the McGrath Foundation. During February each time a greyhound wearing the pink number eight vest won a Victorian or Tasmanian greyhound race, $500 was donated to the McGrath Foundation to help place McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities right across Australia, as well as to increase breast awareness in young Australian women.

Sports stars from across many codes were involved in this year’s campaign with Jonathan Brown and wife Kylie the headline ambassadors. “I have been involved with greyhounds my whole life and Kylie is very passionate about the work the McGrath Foundation does, so we were proud to be involved with the Go The Pink Dog! campaign,” Brown said.

Foundation Ambassador and Director, Tracy Bevan, was delighted with the result which will help the McGrath Foundation support Australian families experiencing breast cancer.

“We’re really grateful for the support we’ve received from the greyhound racing community over the past three years. Raising $230,000 since the campaign began will help fund a McGrath Breast Care Nurse for a two year period, which is a phenomenal effort,” Bevan said.

Other stars that were involved in the campaign were Melbourne Victory hero Archie Thompson and Melbourne Vixens skipper Bianca Chatfield.

2012 was the third edition of Go The Pink Dog! with the combined total of the three campaigns being close to $230,000.
